RORA is an aurora forecast and alert app, made by Flynch MB.
Email hello@theflynch.com. Include your phone model and its iOS or Android version, the place set in the app, and a screenshot if something looks wrong. We reply within two working days.
It combines three things for your place: how strong the aurora is expected to be (the NOAA nowcast for the next hour, and the NOAA Kp forecast after that), how clear the sky will be, and how dark it is. The chance is high only when all three are good.
Check these first:
Open the app once after changing any of these, so the alert server gets your new settings.
The chance is an estimate. The aurora can fade in minutes, and local clouds or light pollution can hide it. Go away from town lights, face north (south in the southern hemisphere), and give your eyes 15 minutes to adjust. A phone camera in night mode often shows the aurora before your eyes do.
Tap the place name at the top of the Tonight screen, then search for a city or use your current location. Alerts follow the new place.
On iPhone, touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for RORA. For the Lock Screen, touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, then the widget area.
Open Settings in the app and tap "Restore purchases". The subscription follows the Apple ID or Google account it was bought with, so sign in to that account first.
Subscriptions are managed by the store you bought them in. On iPhone, open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose RORA Pro. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, and choose RORA Pro. To avoid being charged, cancel a free trial at least 24 hours before it ends. Cancelling keeps Pro active until the end of the period you have paid for.
Refunds are handled by the store you bought in. For the App Store, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play, see Google Play refunds.
Your place and settings stay on your phone. If you use alerts, our server keeps your place, alert settings, and a push token, only to send the alerts. RORA has no account. To delete your alert record, email us. See the Privacy Policy for details.
