These Terms of Service explain the rules, billing terms, acceptable use, and legal framework for using CRDD.
Welcome to CRDD, an application created by Flynch MB ("Flynch," "we," or "us") that helps door staff check ID documents and ages. By accessing or using the CRDD mobile application or related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you use CRDD for a business, you accept these Terms for that business, and "you" includes the business. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
CRDD reads the PDF417 barcode on US and Canadian driver's licenses and ID cards, and the machine-readable zone (MRZ) of passports and national ID cards, using the device camera and text recognition on the device. It works out the holder's age, compares it with the age limit set for the venue, and shows a verdict: admit, deny, or check by hand. The Service can also read the chip in a passport or ID card over NFC, verify the issuing country's digital signature on the chip data, and show the holder's facial photo from the chip; and it keeps a scan log, warns of passbacks, and supports ban and VIP lists and statistics. All processing happens on the device. The Service may include experimental features and beta releases.
CRDD is a tool for businesses and their staff. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to purchase CRDD Pro or to use the Service for a business. CRDD requires no account.
Every feature of CRDD is free for a limited number of scans each night (five at the time of writing, as shown in the app). The night starts at 6 AM local time. We may change the free allowance; the app always shows the current one.
CRDD Pro is an auto-renewing subscription that removes the nightly scan limit, as described in the purchase flow. The chip check needs a device with NFC and a document that has a chip.
CRDD Pro offers weekly and yearly subscriptions. The store shows prices in your local currency before purchase. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it. The store charges the payment method on your store account. Open the subscription settings in the store where you purchased Pro. Cancel before the renewal date. For Apple subscriptions, cancel at least 24 hours before that date. Your Pro access continues until the end of the paid period.
Eligible customers receive a seven-day free trial. The store determines eligibility. Each customer receives one trial for CRDD Pro, subject to store eligibility. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid a charge. For Apple subscriptions, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. After the trial, the store charges the displayed subscription price unless you cancel.
Purchases are made through the Apple App Store, billed by Apple, and subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Where CRDD is available on Google Play, purchases there are billed by Google and subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
Apple and Google apply their own refund policies. Request a refund from the store that processed your purchase.
Use "Restore purchases" in the app's Settings to restore an active subscription. Use the same store account that you used for the purchase.
We may provide promotional trials, offer codes, or beta features. We reserve the right to modify or revoke these benefits at any time. Promotional access has no cash value and expires as stated in the offer.
CRDD helps staff read and check ID documents. It does not guarantee that a document is genuine, that it belongs to the person showing it, or that the data on it is correct. In particular:
Staff must use their own judgement, look at the document and the person, and check by hand whenever there is doubt. The venue remains fully responsible for every admission decision and for compliance with the laws that apply to it, including minimum age laws and the conditions of its liquor license.
CRDD stores the data it reads from ID documents only on the device. The venue decides whose IDs are scanned and why, and is the controller of that guest data. Flynch never receives it. You are responsible for:

Our collection, use, and sharing of personal information are described in the CRDD Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described there.
We aim to keep CRDD running smoothly but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may release updates that change how features work, and some updates may be required to continue using the Service. Support is available via hello@theflynch.com.
CRDD is distributed through the Apple App Store, relies on a third-party subscription-management provider (RevenueCat) to operate purchases, and uses the country signing certificates published by ICAO and the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) for the chip check. Your use of the Service is subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (or the Google Play Terms of Service, where available), and to the policies of any provider we use to deliver the Service. We are not responsible for third-party services and data, and do not guarantee their availability, accuracy, or behavior.
CRDD, including its software, visual identity, trademarks, and documentation, is owned by Flynch or its licensors. Except for the rights expressly granted in these Terms, we reserve all rights, title, and interest in the Service. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code, nor may you remove proprietary notices.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. FLYNCH DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, BE ACCURATE, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR UNINTERRUPTED. VERDICTS, AGES, CHECK RESULTS, AND CHIP CHECK RESULTS ARE AIDS FOR YOUR STAFF AND ARE NOT A GUARANTEE THAT A DOCUMENT IS GENUINE, VALID, OR BELONGS TO THE PERSON SHOWING IT. YOU ASSUME ALL RISK FOR USE OF THE SERVICE AND FOR ALL ADMISSION DECISIONS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FLYNCH AND ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, LICENSORS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, INCLUDING FINES, PENALTIES, OR LICENSE ACTIONS RESULTING FROM THE ADMISSION OF UNDERAGE PERSONS OR THE USE OF FAKE DOCUMENTS, OR FROM YOUR HANDLING OF GUEST DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS IN ANY 12-MONTH PERIOD WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO FLYNCH FOR THE SERVICE DURING THAT PERIOD.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Flynch and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or related to your use of the Service, your admission decisions, your scanning and keeping of guest data, or your breach of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, legal requirements, or usage policies. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect, including Sections 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, and 17.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The parties agree to exclusive jurisdiction in the courts of Vilnius, Lithuania. Where prohibited by law, mandatory consumer protection rights supersede this clause.
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in technology, regulations, or our business. When we make material changes, we will notify you via in-product messaging or by posting an update on our website. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
